One of our feed drivers stepped into the role of making fertilizer deliveries during the Spring rush. He reported, "I was a little nervous and apprehensive to try this as it is different kind of delivery equipment and locations are not always at a physical address to find. Many deliveries get delivered to fields. I am so glad I did as the personnel at Risser’s in Turbotville is top notch and very helpful. I enjoy going to work there as many welcome me in the morning with a Good Morning, which makes me feel welcomed and worthy.”

On February 20, the Wenger Dairy Business Unit (WDBU) held its annual Milk Metrics meeting at Shady Maple Smorgasbord in East Earl. This year’s speakers included Calf and Heifer Specialist Stephanie Smith whose presentation “Turning High Quality Heifer Calves into Future Super Stars” received a favorable review in Lancaster Farming. In addition, Robin Schmahl of AgDairy, LLC presented on “Using Current Dairy Market Fundamentals to Plan for Tomorrow.” Finally, Dr. Kevin Harvatine, Penn State University and Tom Nauman, Dairy Nutrition Technical Services Manager for WDBU jointly presented on “Understanding and Utilizing the Tools Available to Maximize Butterfat Production.”

Congratulations to Head of Food Safety Kim Raczka, who was selected as a 2025 SQF Excellence Awards finalist. SQF stands for Safe Quality Food. It's a food safety and quality certification program that's recognized globally. Currently, six milling locations are Safe Quality Food (SQF)-certified, with Spring Glen being the most recent to achieve this certification. Wenger Feeds is the only feed mill in the region with SQF capabilities.
