Total Rewards at Express Scripts represent all of the investments we make in our people, in return for their contributions in serving our clients and patients and delivering on our mission to make prescription drugs safer and more affordable. We provide resources, rewards and recognition that empower our employees to maximize their performance, potential and financial success at Express Scripts.
High deductible. Can't use UPMC doctors or hospitals. And unless you have a catastrophic event, you'll never reach your OOP, so you're forever stuck at 80/20. For a company this large, our benefits should be great. Don't brag about the BILLION dollar company if you're not willing to share any of it with the people who bring it in.

Benefits are decent. You earn kudos points for being a good employee that can be used to buy great products. Employer pays part of insurance and matches 401k contribution up to 4%. PTO and VTO available (voluntary time off).

Express Scripts - removing the 'balance' from 'work/life balance'. Don't worry about trying to draw hard lines between work and life, because Express Scripts doesn't seem to have much trouble ignoring the lines. They might even offer to let you work 60 extra hours in exchange for 32 hours off (1 day a month over 4 months) during the summer months. Which ultimately isn't as bad a deal as it seems, since you'll probably be working at least an extra 10 hours per week anyway.

The worst things about the benefits were 1. we had to pay for our generic medications, when prior, they were free; 2. we had to pay for the company to handle our 401k and investments when prior this was free. The best think was that we received tuition reimbursement. We did have accumulated paid time off that we could add up for longer vacations that lasted over a week.

Tuition assistance and ability to get an MBA from UMSL while working can be helpful for many employees who want to advance their careers.
