Poor package overall. Not well communicated either.

Medical benefits: They have gone from bad to worse. Besides a deductible on a PPO that rivals a high-deductible plan, they are now increasing premiums for 2015 by 135% (that's not a typo, it's more than doubling!).
Sick time: There isn't any. Instead, employees are expected to take vacation time (cleverly called, "Paid Time Off") when they're sick. As a consequence, workers come in when really sick, causing others to get sick.
Professional development: Jacobs will not pay for any training. Since Jacobs provides engineering services to other companies and the Government, the company "sells" the employees as being completely qualified. So if you need to further your training, you're out of luck, as Jacobs won't pay for it (nor give you time off to take the training).

The cost of benefits was in line with what I have seen at other companies.

Medical benefits and 401K seem pretty good across the board. I haven't taken advantage of many of the other benefits, but from what I hear from coworkers they are very satisfied with the benefits in relation to other companies they have worked for.

Health Insurance options are not the best. They seem to spend more on "extras", which results in too much spam snail mail, than actual plan offerings.

401k is match is 3% and with Vanguard. Health Insurance is alright regarding benefits and monthly costs can be reduced if you are healthy and meet BMI/Cholesterol/BPressure targets, via a wellness credit. For a single healthy male, I pay $70/month.

My main issue with the benefits is the high cost of Health insurance. I would think that a company with more than 60k employees world wide could leverage better insurance rates. My wife and I sought better insurance in the private market and pay less.

The company covers very little if anything. The employees pay high rates for insurnace. The PTO program is very good. The employees get to sell back the PTO once a year. Stock discount of 5% is low. It should be much higher discount.

The benefits are not really all that great. They only match 3% and health insurance for a family is going to run you ~$740 a month.
