I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Flight Centre Travel Group in Sep 2012
Interview
The first interview took place over the phone and the interviewer asked questions about travel experience and sales experience. The interviewer then let me know that I was successful and that she would like to meet me for the second round. She let me know that the interview was a group interview and that it would take the better part of the work day. The in person interview took six hours and began with a two hour presentation on the company and the benefits of working for the organization. We were next asked to get to know the persons sitting next to us and "sell them" to the panel of interviewers. The next phase consisted of a role play sales presentation assignment. There was also a geography test and an online computer assessment test.

Question 1
They had us do a role play of a sales presentation.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Flight Centre Travel Group (Toronto, ON)
Interview
First you apply online, you receive an automated email, and then they will call you a couple days later looking to do a phone interview. They will ask you a few questions about why you think you should work for Flight Centre, where you have traveled, etc. If you pass this they will send you an online test that you have to fill out. Parts of this test have no right or wrong answers and are just testing you to see what you say. Other parts of this test are challenging and almost impossible, they are timed tests which you are unable to complete, it is about task management and answering as many questions as you can.
If you do fine with this they will ask you to come to Toronto for a group hiring session. This goes from 9 A.M to 2 P.M.
They start off by talking about how great Flight Centre is and how it is possible to hit their sales targets and travel the world getting rewarded.
Once they are done talking about themselves they pair you up with another person. This is where you get into the first excersise. You have 5 minutes to find out as much information about your partner as you can and then you have to try and sell them to the Flight Centre Staff on why they would be good candidates.
After this they will break you up to two groups and make you do two role playing excersises. The first role playing excersis is you have to pretend you are a Travel Agent at a Flight Centre location and try to sell one of the employees a trip. You need to touch base on all of their selling tactics they talk about before hand.
The next excersise is you go into a room and pretend you are working at a clothing store and someone is coming in to return a product. You need to make sure that you know all the companies return policies (on the sheet they give you) and handle the return properly.
After this is done you are basically done for the day. At the end of the day they will ask some people to stay to talk about their online test, and the rest can leave. The ones who stay get the position, the ones who dont, do not.
This is followed by 2 weeks of in class training in the Toronto office.
Flight Centre doesnt care if you have relevant experience, they just care if you are out going. This is reflected in their store front locations with unknowledgeable staff.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The role playing was kind of a joke. I came to sell travel, not pretend to.
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Flight Centre Travel Group (Toronto, ON) in Sep 2012
Interview
The interview has a few stages. First the online application, followed by a short phone interview. The next step is an all day group interview, consisting of several stages, with mock selling scenarios. The last stage is a day at the store in which one is to work. Overall a very long interview that is very inconvenient for a job that does not even offer very good pay. More trouble than its worth.

Question 1
The most difficult is the mock selling scenario, one person acts as a customer, presenting a lot of objections, while two other people observe. Its very nerve racking.
