Save yourself from this sad company!

Pros

None, now that the past leadership have all been laid off - APFM's loss!

Cons

Middle and Upper management talk out both sides of their mouth - they cannot be trusted at all and drinking their Corporate Koolaid will make you crazy! They do not value their employees, regardless of what their responses say on Glassdoor, they're just trying to "save face"! They lie and use people to get what they need and then out you go with the trash! What's so sad is when I first started working for this company, this wasn't the case at all - I loved my job and the fact that our input was truly valued and the results showed! Transparency is not part of this company at all anymore, so if you're hoping to work for a company that truly values the services they provide for seniors, along with treating their employees with dignity and respect, then do NOT work for A Place for Mom and save yourself a great deal of stress and grief! And use a different referral service for seniors - one that has true ethics and integrity!

Thank you for your feedback. We are deeply invested in the experience of our team at A Place for Mom. For that reason, A Place for Mom remains committed to using data, technology, and world-class talent to bring our free service to seniors and their families. Organizational changes are always difficult for everyone involved, but the focus of A Place for Mom is helping families find the right senior living solution for their parent or loved one through the support of a local Senior Living Advisor. This is at the core of what we do and will not change.

Pros

I've had a good manager and learned a lot.

Cons

Raises are small, and recently the head of our h-r told us we couldn't work from home anymore. In a market where companies are competing harder to hire and keep good employees, A Place For Mom is telling its employees that they have to be in the office every day. If you appreciate work flexibility, you won't find a good fit here anymore.

Thanks for your feedback. We want to address some of the specific issues you brought up, and provide some clarification. A Place for Mom offers flexible work-from-home solutions for many of our employees. Our long-standing policy has not changed. It is up to each employee and the manager to determine a solution that works for the individual team member and the respective work group. Work from home solutions vary from team to team. We made a recent policy change in our Austin office, which previously encouraged employees to work from anywhere for the month of July. We have discontinued this approach to provide consistency and fairness between our Seattle and Austin teams. This had no impact on our general work from home policy. Thank you for your comments on the annual review process. Total compensation is an important component to our annual review and salary discussions. As part of this process, we conduct regular local market salary reviews to ensure the positions we have in each office are in-line with the market. We have done this recently and are comfortable with our current salary bands and annual raise compensation. We encourage you to talk with your manager if you feel your position and performance is outside of an appropriate salary range.

Pros

Helping seniors navigate through the maze of various and sometimes confusing healthcare options. Helping partner communities drive incremental revenue into there building.

Cons

The value proposition to our referral partners cannot be validated by data. With increased pressure on hospitals and skilled nursing facilities by CMS to reduce hospital re-admissions rates, shorten LOS, ACO's evaluating performance and outcomes APFM can not prove it's worth. It claims it can improve the DC planning process, improve hospital re-admission rates, etc but has no data to support these claims. The SLA's control this company and it's destiny. In some regions they outright steal referrals from the CRA team and management does absolutely nothing to stop them or at the very least slow them down. Every CRA in the company essential has the same quota without consideration to partner penetration, demographic data, etc. This thing that is most troubling is that upper management has expertise in Internet marketing but are serving people in the healthcare arena where they really don't have any expertise.
