Strong name and reputation of the firm.

Cons

I probably worked in a specially bad group in NYC, but It is a terrible place to work for. The morale is terrible, terrible staffing and distribution of work. Lazy senior associates dump their own work on juniors with very little explanation and take credit for it. No recognition of your work and an environment in which it is OK for partners to yell at associates. There are partners who have been in the firm for 30 years and have never made any of their associates partner.

Onsite facilities and amenities are excellent

Cons

They talk a lot about diversity and have all kinds of initiatives, but it's still a big city firm that only cares about chargeable hours. The smile doesn't reach the eyes.

The workday starts at 9:30 and ends at 5:30 (officially). Company has an office in Melville, so saves a trip into the City.

Cons

Management does not value its employees. The company operates on a cash basis, which makes closing the books at year-end hecticly nerve-racking.
