Pros

The organization has very good benefits and it'll help you stay there for a while. New Building is nice and I loved the open plan.

Cons

Few misguided folks are able to hold an entire unit hostage. Heavy reliance on contractors who have no willingness/incentive to solve the problem but to ensure that their contracts keep on getting extended.

Limited opportunities to advance

Pros

Despite the size, AAMC has many wonderful opportunities to get involved in various internal and external projects. It is great for learning many skills at various levels especially if you are involved with data or technology.

Cons

Once you become a senior specialist it is difficult to advance beyond this level. AAMC position titles don't necessarily reflect the scope of responsibility. Directors can report to Directors and Chiefs to Chiefs--so it's a little confusing.

Great work/life balance. Easily able to form working relationships with coworkers.

Cons

The open space office concept is something to get used to.
