Pros

• Free on-site parking, 2 car parks for employees • Colleagues friendly and engaging, good team spirit • No account charges for employees on their own personal AJ Bell products

Cons

My previous review of AJ Bell was removed and hidden by other reviews, which were seemingly posted in response to negative feedback • Management will micromanage you regarding performance, time you for toilet breaks, and ensure you’re using the correct “status update” when away from desk • Expectations of workload are grossly overestimated by management - leading to burnout • Employees at a base-salary level are expected to train staff, rather than have a member of management train new starters. • Employee growth is advertised, but rarely is it encouraged

Introverts don’t bother

Pros

Fairly reasonable hybrid policy but it is strictly monitored - could be improved The office building is great, many stations to get to it The employees are nice

Cons

I have personally found that in order for you to do “well” in this company you have to be fairly extroverted, if you are the type to prefer to do your job well and go home then seriously don’t bother. Things like sitting with your team, having lunch with your team are way more prioritised than the quality of your work. You’re constantly being told to make yourself visible to senior management so that you can get more exciting work. It’s definitely forced as they will “kindly” form these requirements into your objectives for the year. You’re constantly expected to over perform socially rather than just focusing on your work. If that sort of thing works for you great but if you’re more on the quieter side it is seen as a downside and will be used against you.
