Pros

Great colleagues, section leaders and Managers - going to miss some of the Managers when they go! They bend over backwards to help each other - but I think thats the benefit of working in a tiny store everyone knows everyone.

Cons

Feel that the wages are not that great for what we have to put up with from the sometimes rude customers. Breaks differ from shop to shop as I've worked in a superstore and now a supermarket - work the same shift and get less breaks now than I did in the superstore!

Pros

Flexible hours, understood university and travel commitments, altered my contract as and when I needed it changing, never had any problems with pay, diverse range of colleagues, discount card is a bonus, colleagues all friendly - lots of work nights out.

Cons

Working on tills can be boring but it's the same in any supermarket I guess, there wasn't enough space to have my own locker which was annoying but everybody was very trustworthy so not too much of a big issue.

Pros

Very flexible as they allow you to work around medical appointments during your contract. It is also hassle-free to swap shifts with another person from your department if you need time off.

Cons

Low pay. The customers are often very insulting. Management is constantly in a state of flux and at times it feels as though there is little communication between them. Management do not back up colleagues with issues. Inadequate training is given. Regularly left with less than half the colleagues needed to run a department, there has been days where it has just been myself in a department.
