Pros

Working at Accion was an amazing place to make friends and learn teamwork, because we were all being put through the same unrealistic expectations and bad leadership. Human Resources was a listening ear, but they had little pull in helping the employees due to the leadership having a “my way or the highway” type attitude toward their business. Was a great place to make friends, but horrible work environment Salary was “okay” to start, but no real way to make commission because old sales practices were used and if employees did not follow, they were reprimanded, consistently....

Cons

Leadership, both in the office and executive were absolutely horrid. There was little sense on how to bring people together for the better of the business. Two meetings a day, if not more left little time to focus on your work. Constant interruption by management on little details (micromanagement) Too worried about numbers instead of the overall picture, and no real attempt to help train, just belittling employees until they had no other option than to leave. Training program was not quality and it was really a learn as you go job. Very sexist environment, all figureheads except for HR were male and had little listening ear if you were a female. Hours are long and grueling Work life balance was “preached” but never actually practiced. Very tension filled office life, always worrying if that day was the day you were getting fired

Pros

- got a project in HP in the Bay Area California thru Accion. Looks good on your resume, HP is a prestigious client. - got my paycheck in time - they didn't interfere in my project, didn't cause problems when I resigned

Cons

- it's a body shopper - they lied about duration of the project. I was told it was 1+ year project but when I went there it was officially 6 months with possible extension. There is a HUGE difference between multi-year project and 6 months project, you can't plan for apartment move etc. - if you sign offer letter you have to join otherwise pay $5000 penalty. - they hired two contractors for Linux Systems Programming work. In reality there wasn't enough work even for one person. I was hired on HP project with another guy and then there was no work for three months. - I requested to be put into other project since my job sucked. My request was turned down.

Pros

Friendly coworkers Free food Ok pay to start

Cons

The guy is charge has micromanagement as his religion. Hes always looking over your shoulder. 2 meetings a day reports and tracking every phone call. Clock in and out for everything. If you are late from lunch you will hear about it. People are to scared to complain. Everyone in the office does the exact same job. They say you cant learn to do more.

Thank you for the feedback provided. We are happy to address your concerns and would like you to know we offer an open-door policy if you feel comfortable to address any future concerns. To clarify the reasoning for the two daily meetings: The morning meeting is to address the days assignments and daily goals. The afternoon meeting is to follow up and review the days progress and find any pain points that can be addressed for the next business day. The meetings are in place to keep the lines of communication open within our sales, recruiting and executive teams. The clock in and clock out procedure is a common practice among organizations. For our Payroll/HR team to ensure proper payment (i.e. shortage of payment, sick time, vacation time, etc.) and to make sure our entire team is paid on time, this policy must be in place. If time punches have been missed our Payroll/HR team is required to follow up with the team member to confirm hours worked. If time punches are consistently missed that would require several follow-ups with our Payroll/HR team. We apologize if you viewed this as micro-management. To follow up with your concern about the lack of job progression, we encourage you to schedule a meeting with your BU head or the HR Manager to discuss your career path with Accion and how you can achieve your goals within our organization. We support growth and want to see our team succeed.
