Pros

They have heat in the winter...that is about the only good thing about working here.

Cons

Management hires immigrants to construct medical implant devices!!!! Construction project that has taken over 4 years and is still not complete, most managers couldn't manage a gas station, corny uniforms, laser department is disfunctional at best, average employee work stint is 8 months, No HR department to speak of...etc, etc, etc

Thank you for your candid feedback about your experience with Acero. We're sorry that your experience was not a positive one, however, we see your feedback as an opportunity to improve and, in that spirit, we would like to provide a response to your comments. I want to assure you that no member of the Human Capital Team or management posts reviews of the company on Glassdoor. All of the reviews on our page have been posted by others. We value diversity at Acero and, as a result, have a very diverse workforce and culture that welcomes all nationalities, ages, races, ethnicities and disabilities. We are looking for talented, hard working people, period! Our building is a work in progress and yes it will take a long time to complete. It is a very large project at 100,000 sq. ft. and when completed it will be the best precision manufacturing facility in the area and maybe the country As for our management team, we have chosen to grow our talent organically, which means that our managers are continuously developing and honing their managerial skills. Our managers do care about their employees and demonstrate this by investing their time and talents so as to enable them to be best in class machinists and technicians at all levels. All of our managers participate in management development training off-site eight times per year. We also encourage and support the educational aspirations of all of our employees who desire to build their knowledge and skills in the manufacturing industry. Finally, as for our uniforms, we are so surprised and sorry to hear that you did not like them – they are one of the first things customers and candidates notice and comment favorably upon! We think we have one of the sharpest dressed workforces around! Considering that we supply these to our entire workforce at no cost, we would hope that this perk was well received. Thank you again for your comments. We hope that you have successfully landed at a new company and wish you the best in the future. Sincerely, Acero Precision

Pros

Pros Good Vision and Medical Benefits that are very affordable. The also give out "free uniform" that they require you to wear. Salary is good if you're hourly as they'll let you work overtime for as much as you want. Environment is good - co-workers were great and loved working with them. Had a "us vs. management" They host food events to show how they "appreciate" employees. If you are one of the tenured machinist then you can freely do whatever you want. There was one at my time with the company and he would openly talk bad about management and the owners.

Cons

Not even sure how detailed I can be here that would not violate my "NDA". Speaking of NDA, this was not mentioned at all during the recruitment process. I just received it in an email that it was a requirement after I verbally accepted my offer. If you want work life balance then please do not work here. The company claims "work hard, play hard" but in reality it was work hard until you burn out. The owners expect everyone to work as "hard" as they do when it is only them who reaps the fruits of company's labour. Benefits - Dental benefits are affordable but its the same to not having one really. Their dental plan is not good. Their Paid Time Off "benefit" is the worst I've seen in my working career. Salary - If you are considered exempt then don't bother considering their offer. They make you clock in/out and they track your hours even as a salaried employee. 45 hours a week is minimum and this was supposed to be an upgrade from 50 hours a week before. Please consider the amount of hours you need to work as a salaried employee before accepting their offer. Environment - This has been the most constricting environment I have ever experienced. No room for mistakes at all and when you do make one, you'll be met with yelling instead of assistance or training to rectify the mistake. Management - very secretive. They will take note of every mistake you make and you use it against you when it is beneficial for them such us "performance reviews" (despite you correcting your mistakes). There are more cons to say really but I will not "expose" more as it would give away my identity.

These types of remarks are extremely disappointing and hurtful for the company’s leadership and workforce. When Acero sees a review that is full of untruths we obligated to set the record straight. It is our practice to dress our workforce in top quality gear at no cost to the employee. There is also no limit to how much or when an employee can request additional uniforms. The comment “they make you wear them” is so far off our mission and purpose. When you join our team you are invited to look good so you can feel good about yourself and the work we want to accomplish. It is our brand and we make no excuse for it. The posting does highlight our benefits, wages, overtime, and uniform policies. We do appreciate our employees by providing food events, bonuses, and extra time off at holidays. To us, these are good things and we will never stop trying to make life in the factory as enjoyable as practical. It is unclear how the items listed can add up to an “us vs. management” standoff. And it is just not fair to identify an unknown employee as the source of this negative energy. Haters have to hate that’s who they are. Our PTO hours awarded at time of hire are a minimum of 13 paid days off plus 7 holidays. This increases over time to 20 paid days off plus 7 Holidays, that’s 5 week’s pay. To say that this is ‘the worst that I have ever seen says something about the author. The facts are the facts if other companies give more – great ! We think we are very fair. It is simply untrue that “yelling” is a technique used at our company. Yelling on the factory floor just does not happen. The Non- Disclosure Agreement (NDA) referred to in this post is a standard in business. It is 100% included in the offer letter and it is no surprise to anyone. If a person should have an issue with disclosing confidential information they should simply not accept the offer. To say that this not mentioned during the recruiting process is simply untrue and is part of our standard offer letter. As a condition for employment and continued employment, all employees are expected to abide by and sign the Non-Disclosure and Non-Competition Agreement. Employees are expected to keep data confidential at all times”. This is in every offer letter. Exempt (salaried) employees work on average 45 hours per week. No one is mandated to work a 45 hour nor is any staff forced into being a salary worker. This is determined by job classification and is not an arbitrary decision. Many desire the higher salary as they want more money. We do pay top dollar and we know this from nearly 40 years of being in business – and still flourishing!

Pros

Uniform, pay check here and there. Sometimes people didn't complain.

Cons

CEO - He is a bully who believes he is incredible smart, however he has social problems. HR - Doesn't exist. Don't work with this company. They will not get you your product in time. Also Military, they illegally charge your vacation days for any military duty you do. The CEO warns you of that.

Thank you for your candid feedback about your experience at Acero. We're sorry that your experience was with us was not a positive one. We see your feedback as an opportunity to improve and therefore would like to respond. In our 30+ years of operating Acero Precision has never missed paying their employees. We understand the importance of paying our employees accurately and on-time, every pay period. In the event that a mistake occurs we rectify the situation as soon as possible. Our CEO is a visionary leader who enjoys interacting with employees at all levels. His business acumen and technical knowledge has allowed him to successfully direct our company to achieve 15% growth on average every year. We do not have an HR Department - we have a Human Capital Team. Our Human Capital Team is comprised of three individuals: a Director, a Business Partner and an HR Generalist and together they support the company’s human capital needs and serve as a resource for employees and managers. We endeavor to deliver products to our customers within agreed upon time frames. While there is always room for improvement, our delivery time for our customers is usually 100% within the specified delivery time timeframe. Finally, and most importantly, Acero is pro-military and have many active employees who are in various branches of our armed forces. Our company policy specifically allows for up to two weeks of unpaid military leaves per calendar year for employees to fulfill their active duty obligation. These employees are not required to use sick time or vacation time. Thank you again for your comments. We hope that you have successfully landed at a new company and wish you the best in the future. Sincerely, Acero Precision
