Pros

Aside from decent health benefits and work life balance, there are no pros to this company.

Cons

Completely disorganized from the top down and had 3 bosses in 6 months in my department alone. 0 compassion or care for employees. Executives who have no idea what customer service means. Pricing way above the competition for no good reason so getting a commission check is nearly impossible. Then, if you are actually owed a commission, they will find a way not to pay you for it. Laid off a big portion of their staff a week before Christmas with very little severance or communication on the matter. I left a wonderful job to come to Active based on the promises told to me during the interview process, which all turned out to be lies. Working here was a huge mistake.

Pros

work with some wonderful people.

Cons

Let's start with HR. They are dishonest and will lie, lie, and lie some more. Almost as eye-opening as their dishonesty is their incompetence. They are the ones who should be fighting for better benefits, but what they provide you is absolutely terrible. The deductibles are extremely high, so if you have kids---don't even THINK about using their medical plan. It's a joke. Case in point to their dishonesty? It is very obvious that HR is writing the positive reviews you see here. So while they're dishonest and incompetent, they also serve as the biggest transgressors of the fake, "dishonest" reviews you see on here. The company got bought out by Global Payments a few months ago, and in every other culture in every other walk of life, the inept management would be the first to go. Not here. If a country is losing a war, they don't fire the soldiers. They fire the generals. NOT HERE. Management and HR gets rid of the heart-and-soul of the company when they don't meet the standards set by Global Payments. They made some bad, bad choices to protect themselves, and my experience with this company is 100% tainted. A *real* leader would have said, "I'm not doing this company proud--and I think it's best that I move on."

Pros

The only pros I can think of are the people I met there and maybe the relaxed culture. The hardest part about leaving was all of the great people. The only reason I stayed as long as I did was because of the people around me who made it bearable. ACTIVE has so much talent within its employees but nobody seems to care. The ActiveX program is worthwhile and the only part of the company that cares about the employees.

Cons

The people and the relaxed culture are great until management (even lower level) takes advantage of it and berates you in front of other employees multiple times with no repercussion. "That's just how it is." There is no consistency in anything. They will take away any sales incentives or "back date" a new plan the second it means that ACTIVE is paying its employees anything more than that absolutely have to. Time off is a joke. They try to play up the silicon valley atmosphere but there's no flexibility within that. Employees are taught to lie to make the sale. And if you think you have any choice of advancing through the company, think again. They promise you all sorts of advancement and money through your interview and then make it next to impossible unless you cozy up to another manager.
