Pros

The CFO is very friendly and down to earth. A lot of young and energetic professionals here to make for a fun working culture. The downtown location is also nice.

Cons

Executives and management team bring the company morale way down. Have actually overheard CEO say, "It's okay to make people cry here. We support that," in addition to an incessant amount of F bombs.

Get Out While You Can

Pros

The work was fun and varied. Unlike most other reviewers, I worked with little supervision. The people there seemed very young and mostly shy and kept to themselves for the most part but were usually friendly when approached.

Cons

Little or no direction in my position. Endless phone meetings. A psychopathic CEO -- I literally saw him yell at two assistants because workers on the street below were using jackhammers and he wanted them to go down and stop them! The bathroom situation was untenable. Every stall was occupied at all times and they frequently ran out of soap and paper towels before the end of the day. I came away with the feeling that this place is being groomed to sell and they were using the lax tax laws of Texas as a shelter before shipping everyone's job overseas. Good luck with that, people!

Pros

Nothing about this company is good. BEWARE of the "Google" atmosphere, it is nothing like that. A good company has flexibility and treats their employees with dignity and respect. Active is a wolf in sheep's clothing.

Cons

Active used to be a great company to work for. I took a significant salary cut to come here because of the flexibility and great benefits. That changed completely once Vista bought Active and moved to Downtown Dallas. First, they removed all Work From Home days. So when we had an ice storm in March and the DART was not working, we were told that if we were physically not in the office we had to take PTO. Mind you that my team worked remote 100% for four months last summer due to lack of office space before the move and had hit above goal all months. Secondly, they jacked our medical benefits and took away the PPO plan. None of my doctors that I had had for over 10 years didn't take the new insurance because it's so terrible. It was basically like taking a $4,000 pay cut for awful insurance. They seduce you with free bagels on Friday, ping pong tables, but if you pull back behind the curtain a company that will use you and has no soul. Don't be fooled by the hip office and free sodas. Do not work here! It would be the worst professional decision of your life.
