Pros

Honestly it's not what it was 6 months ago, a lot of people leaving left and right because of the constant state of change and over bearing management. They've doubled the amount of managers and are giving people pointless roles for the sake of creating in unnecessary hierarchy. How many managers do you need between you and your manager? It's simple, make opportunities and close deals. They're getting lost in trying to figure out the perfect formula when it wasn't broken to begin with. They got rid of a lot of great employees and just as many more quit due to the company's changing ways every month of two. I used to love working here but now over half the floor is looking at other companies to work for.

Cons

THEY HAVE NEW HIRES SIGN A "I won't quit for an entire year otherwise I will be required to pay $7,000 back to the ACTIVE... So they're obviously worried about people leaving once they realize it's not as advertised. I've NEVER heard of a company requiring new hires to sign something like that. It's a threat. "We'll penalize you 7 GRAND if you don't like it here and leave to work somewhere else..."

Pros

Cool office space, friendly colleagues. That's about it.

Cons

Territory assignment is asinine and arbitrary. Zero leadership. They focus on team building, but use scare tactics all day long. Cool ping pong table, but we better not see you using it. Not much in the way of micro-managing, but the C-Level peeps certainly "scare" your manager.

Pros

people are nice, it's a laid back environment. The office is new and shiny. Free bagels on Fridays.

Cons

Unfortunately there are about a hundred more cons than pros. I was told there would be flexible hours (like a normal job, just get your 40 hrs in) but when I got there I was told I must be there from 8:30 to 5:30pm. When I first started I was looking at a long commute and ended up with 12 hour days including travel. They wouldn't even give me the option to work flex hours to avoid rush hour and shorten my commute. Active really likes to act like they are chill, but the truth is you will be micromanaged every moment of the day. I felt like a child half the days I was there. You feel like someone is trying to babysit you. If I am an adult with a job, leave me the alone so that I can do it. The recruiter told me I would receive a $5000 bonus upon moving. He told me it was really $7500 and then they would take the taxes out so it would end up being $5000. I had this money earmarked for important uses since I was moving, so I was looking forward to it landing in my bank account. Unfortunately the recruiter was lying and the amount was about $3400 after taxes had been removed. That didn't set things off to a good start. CEOs act too good for the common worker. My boss was actually working remotely from another location and we barely had contact with her. She got to work from her fancy house in a great location while everyone else had to haul ourselves in on the dart to get downtown every day to work ridiculously rigid work hours. Not a very good management strategy. I once heard the CFO say in a meeting, "I once had to not see my family For 3 months to get something at work done". She was bragging about not seeing her kids because she was so dedicated to work. I have never seen anyone brag about having such terrible work life balance before.
