Pros

Nothing to say. Nothing to express.

Cons

Heard that CEO is trying to get rid of most of the Engineers from Bellevue location and fill up with H1bs in headquarters located in Atlanta - Company is filing green card and h1b visas in the name of different name - not in the name of Agilysys Inc. Also for green card applications company needs to advertise the position in job board for 30 days. But no one can apply for that position because uploading the resume button results in an error. Lot of malpractices going on to support H1b. These way HR can submit information that no other American talent available for filling up for this position to USCIS. CEO, CTO (who don't know how to communicate with the engineers), Managers. Directors all are Indians.

Pros

Good pay Decent work life balance (assuming you are not salary I would imagine) There are still (as of this writing) some great people around. For remote jobs, lots of freedom, almost no oversight, you get left alone. Autonomy

Cons

I am blessed I am remote. Increasingly the adjectives I hear from those who work in the offices include "toxic" "bad" "hostile." They have laid off some bad people but some really good people too. All that work gets thrown on to other, overworked eployees causing I am sure annoyance for the customer at the least and severe disruption at the worst. The CEO has said repeatedly that we are to be more customer focused but I do not see evidence of that pursuit. We are, I would argue, even less so today than we were before he arrived. People are moved around to different customers even more than they were before. Even when a customer really likes their "team" there's only a half effort in keeping those individuals with that team. I understand people need to be moved around, especially now with the frequent layoffs and people quitting. Sometimes there doesn't appear to be any logic in it at all. Additionally, if our CEO had been Australian and, after his arrival, steadily and rapidly all dev job were being sent to Australia and, in the U.S.A (where this company is currently based) suddenly every new exec or mid-level manager that was hired was Australian I would think how odd it was that the most talented and best people to manage and execute tasks in this company are all from one, very specific and distant part of the world - and why all the other companies I worked for didn't just hire Australians?... Well I am wondering that now, but the place isn't Australia... Further if these people are the best at what they do, why aren't better things happening? Finnacially I don't see it (despite all the layoffs and cost cutting), I don't see huge new customers being singed (seems to be about the same pace as before he arrived and clearly there's a huge work place culture problem. If you look at the reviews on this page, it's pretty easy to spot the trend. Of course there are some reviews that I noticed people appear to be delirously happy. I would say those are either not accurate or they represent the huge disparity in treatment as outlined in the previous paragraph between the two groups of employees. I strongly believe that disatisfied employees who feel they are being threatened (both implicitly and directly) cannot result in postive growth for a company and speak to an unstable company which is steadily eroding the foundation beneath its own feet. For what purpose I cannot be sure, but if you look back at the CEO's short tenure and the GlassDoor ratings dive that occured at his last three companies, I am pretty sure we're not headed in the right direction. The only thing that I know I can bank on is, after he departs, employee satisfaction will again rise, as (a quick look back on GlassDoor reviews will show) it always seems to.

Not a healthy place

Pros

It is an emerging industry, and they found a way to keep afloat after the pandemic. They keep getting positive attention from investors.

Cons

Unfortunately, even before the pandemic, keeping the investors happy is what drives the company and that means you will be in a company that is investor centric, not employee centric. This can create a toxic environment for some. In particular because, at least in the USA, many managers are not trained to be managers, they just moved up thanks to friendships from previous workplaces. If your job becomes too expensive here, then it will be sent to India, which makes job security not realistic in any way. They have a very old view of employees being little more than replaceable line workers. As long as the company is well financially, all is well - regardless of how toxic the place may be. As for diversity, the place is full of micro aggression towards some employees and they are not aware of it, in part, because they don't care to know. However notice how the top leaders of the company has been male-dominated for years, not unlike most other tech companies stuck in their old ways.
