Quality Control helps to make sure maintenance is doing the job right. Unfortunately Maintenance and Quality Control are like Oil and Water. If quality control suggests a change needs to be made to make things more efficient or improve processes, Maintenance will fight back and complain. Other issues arise from an incomplete SOP to a constantly changing chain of command that gives little regard to issues that the "small" guys find that affect the entire company. Also there are many managers and supervisors that like to "kick back" and let the boys below them do all the work. I've seen this issue with management at the airport I work at. Corporate management is another story, but they are actually decent and hard-working people. Also pay is lower than other airlines, but this company will open doors for you if you choose to grow and promote or move to another airline with experience under your belt.
