Alliant is burning to the ground

Pros

The pay is OK, but not worth the stress

Cons

The managers are terrible. They are like puppets used by the higher ups to cut jobs, and try to make money for the shareholders. They are panicked because of solar taking over and are trying their best to stay ahead, but no one inside the company has their backs anymore. They have cut the people with experience - stretched the management that's left to impossible levels. Larson has destroyed a once, very good, company quickly. I was with them for decades as well as two other generations in my family - since it was IE. It has never been this terrible.

Would rate zero stars if I could

Pros

- Limited accountability, due to decision by committee (if you like that sort of thing) - You can work from home (hybrid) until leadership feels they have sufficient leverage in the marketplace to pull us back in

Cons

Too many to list: - Disengaged leadership team, leading to a disengaged workforce - No real "culture" to speak of - Lack of general strategy - Constant conflation of "increased profits" with "customer affordability" - Routinely does not "live the values"

Pros

Safety culture and some decent co workers.

Cons

No work life balance, work 60 hour weeks and still they demand more work to be produced. Usually it is by managers wanting to look good for their superiors as to not get "transformed" out of a job. Opinions are not respected. Reluctant to change. They do things the way they have been done for the last 20 years. Lip service given by management about their culture but they don't practice what they preach
