Patients Flexible Work Schedule Friendly Field Staff

Staff are not committed to their daily expectations Give an inch they want a yard Stay an hour overtime they expect it all the time No concren for family and personal time Not enough time in a day to complete all office staff paperwork No Training/Orientation an 800+ page Office of Operations Manual to read/train yourself Mgmt don't appreciate/support staff Unrealistic duties to perform daily Changes occur often and majority of the time w/o notification. Long hours and very little appreciation or feedback No one takes responsibility for their wrong or indifferent actions Everyone wants to be rewarded w/o hard work. All wrong doing get blamed on BOS HIGH LEVEL OF STRESS

The patients! They are wonderful and at the end of the day you feel you have made a difference. Flexibility used to be a "pro" but even that has been changed recently as manager strive for more and more control over scheduling and add additional mandatory meetings that take up half of your time.

Cons

Where to start? Extremely poor management from the AVP level. I have never met our AVP but this person has made so many needless changes and run off many good employees all in the name of more money. Amedisys doesn't seem to care about losing good employees because they will just spend big bucks to hire and train someone else. They won't give raises, but they have no problem spending thousands of dollars to hire new people. Very poor communication across the board. Ridiculous documentation requirements with excessive and repetitive charting that seems to get worse every week as new forms are required. Every week you are asked to do more work for the same compensation and promises are not kept. If you decide to work here get EVERYTHING IN WRITING!

Scheduler worked really hard to to make the patient load as fair as possible. DOO kept an open-door policy for employees.

Cons

I was set up for failure from the beginning! It was my first experience using electronic OASIS (each program is different). If I tried to consult with the Coordinator(only other RN), she would give me false info. to prevent me from getting it right the first. I would have to spend numerous hours learning by trial and error - making my transmissions late most of the time.
