Pros

I just started at American AgCredit a couple of months ago and it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made! I have been offered more training in the last couple of months than I had in the last couple of years with my last company. It's nice to work somewhere where they actually develop their internal employees. I hope to stay for a long time and develop many new skills.

Cons

Food Food Food.... there is food everywhere. I can see that in the future this will be a problem for my waistline.

Pros

Talented lending staff, knowledgeable in agriculture. Underwriting utilizes policy and procedure. Credit management expedite loan packages in an effort to be more efficient. Capital markets puts on a lot of loan volume, with an emphasis on syndicated loans. Colleagues are like-minded and hard working. Executive and Senior management are focused, but also take time to develop and train the staff. Benefits are second-to-none.

Cons

The company is going through rapid changes. Turnover rate is high. Succession plans are not transparent. Competition with other Farm Credit Associations reduce the likelihood of reaching volume growth objectives. Career advancement is limited.

Pros

There are many good people to work with across 5 different states. Pretty good pay at all levels of the organization.

Cons

The company is going through a lot of changes which is affecting work-life balance and morale. Most of the members of the senior management team have been replaced and that certainly leads to uncertainty.
