Pros

There are opportunities to earn some decent money, but the time, energy and cost to get there is usually not worth the trouble.

Cons

Hard to list them all, but I will list just the top few. The leads they say will be provided every week is more like 2 to 3 weeks. The leads are mostly old and not "warm" at all, between 25% to 30% or wrong or disconnected phones and wrong addresses. About 30% of the leads had already been approached just weeks ago by other agents making them upset about you calling them again. About 30% of them are just tired of us calling them every single year and can be pretty rude when you are just trying to do your job. The remaining few probably cannot afford it or do not have any bank or you just get lucky and find maybe one or two that actually need the insurance and can afford it. On top of all that, when you do make an appointment about 50% of the time, the client isn't home after you spent your time and money (gas) getting there and even if they call to cancel ahead of time with you, management wants you to go anyway and try to get in. I lasted over 4 months and the last 4 weeks I made absolutely nothing! I tried to follow their "system" and my failure to succeed was because I didn't follow their script, which may be true, but I found to be mostly untruths and lies in order to get in the door. I have a much higher standard in ethics and morals to work for them the way they want me to and in order to make what I need to make, I would have to become a manager and insist others under me to be unethical and lie which I will never do. Finally, I believe that the retention rate of their agents is less than 5%!!!! I saw so many people come and go week after week and the people who have been there more than me made less than $750 per week after working about 60 + hours per week.

Pros

The pumped up environment is great!!! Theres potential to build a team and make great money. All the managers have your back and want to see you succeed.

Cons

DRIVING. Everywhere. They gave me a lead packet all the way up by new york and the driving killed my car and time. I asked for another lead pack and they told me it wasnt the pack, it was me. However, i was making sales all the time before they had me running all over. Its hard to get a lot of appointments from the leads because its kind of weasling your way in for something free to the client and them making them learn about life insurance in hopes to sell them. And its straight commission so while i was driving in the middle of nowhere ruining my car for people too broke to buy life insurance, i wasnt making a dime. Make sure you have a lot of connections in a wealthy area before signing up for this. Because otherwise you'll sink.

Pros

Great learning experience for sales. recruiting & team leadership. If your really good at it you can make a great income 50-65k + is reasonable as a experienced producer. If you can get and KEEP a team you may avg 75k +. Residual income after several years of work.

Cons

100% commission, you must be able to save / manage your earnings accordingly as income will be up & down not consistent. Don't expect anything until you get it, charge backs will happen when someone cancels as your paid in "advance". If you have $ saved before starting this position you will be fine, but if you don't you may be in for a battle. It takes a while to get smooth & learn everything to make the $ they show. So roll your sleeves up and grind. Lots of travel involved in town & out of town every few months. Work 5-7 days a week including nights, weekends & most holidays as that is when your clients are off of work so you can visit with them. (If you can ever reach them.) Its 2016 & times have changed and less people are answering the telephone to schedule a appointment. People are not responding to the door hangers. Hard to keep enough appointments to be able to do the # of presentations needed each week to be successful for the long-term. No presentations = no chance to make $ even though you may have "worked" "booking" "door knocks" which is time consuming just to get to a kitchen table where you don't even know if the person is seriously interested in getting insurance. After you drive a hour to someones house to find this out. Very frustrating.
