Pros

Great people, brilliant team and my boss was great, he genuinely cared for his people. really good exposure to clients, broad product base allows for greater knowledge of industry products.

Cons

Staff are just a number, very poor pay and benefits vs wider industry. Huge disparity with colleague packages due to the number of takeovers, some colleagues will have really good pensions, pay and health plans due to originally being with firms that were bought out. Apex packages don’t include healthcare for family, my pension didn’t start for 1 year after joining. Also each title has 3 levels, so AVP has AVP1, AVP2 and AVP3 levels, and you are only promoted up 1 sub level at a time with 5% pay increases, this system is designed to keep people (and salaries) down. Also, very long working hours due to not hiring enough staff to support the business coming in. Apex buys so many companies it becomes white noise after a while and there is little integration of those businesses. The growth of the company is phenomenal but it is quite poorly executed. Also the CEO has a lecturing style, town halls are utterly uninspiring as a result. Lastly, the office in Dublin is a bit of a dump and needs a bit of love.

Pros

There are learning opportunities in some of the teams.

Cons

It's a not a good company to work with especially due to poor leadership. Some of the people sitting at VP & above are clueless about their roles & responsibilities. However they bluff around a lot by fooling people. Most of the senior folks there do not have process knowledge, but they claim themselves to be the best experts, do not know why these things are done. The Senior Mgmt is too much cost focussed, they can go to any extent to reduce the cost for tiny things. Hierarchy is a big blunder there with lot of levels. Only mgmt favoured ppl will promotion & ppl who work very hard will not even get peanuts. Some of the group managers do not know the process at all, but talk as if they know everything, so funny!
