Pros

ARUP does a great job of balancing hard work and hard play. The culture of ARUP strongly encourages a healthy lifestyle while expecting employees to do an exceptional job.

Cons

ARUP has long been know for their outstanding benefits. In the recent years the benefits have declined. In no way is the benefits package poor, it no longer stands out amongst other employers.

Great - For a While

Pros

They were great at helping me gain a Technologist certification and the sizable raise that came along with it. The 7 days on / 7 days off schedule is great. Great benefits. Low pressure work environment.

Cons

There is little accountability as far as job performance. I've seen it with different people in a variety of departments and positions - people who do a poor job and/or are extremely difficult to work with. Related to that, I don't see much recognition of people that are doing a really good job. Promotions to Supervisor and above seem to be very seniority based, not performance based. It's important to have bright people that are good communicators running things - all of our jobs depend on it, which is why I'm getting nervous...
