Pros

It used to be a good company for people in early stages of their careers. If one has interest, there are resources that can help build the basic fundamentals of the contact center industry.

Cons

Too many so called "Workforce Adjustments". After a while these layoffs take the focus off work as the intent seems to just survive the next layoff. This adversely affects performance. The company seems to always miss targets which leads various teams to make adjustments. In numerous of the past adjustments, a lot of talented people were let go to save on financials, which at times questions the true intent of what the Company wants to achieve - Market Leadership or just Survival?

Pros

Teams really work together - in customer support anyway

Cons

Gosh, where to start? Low pay, lay offs every time you turn around (and they don't fire wisely...they'll fire the smartest, long-term employees with the best attitudes and keep the idiots who have been there less than a year) Upper management haven't the slightest clue how to run this business except to run it into the ground.

Pros

Due to the lack of direction by Sr. Management and the Exec Team, and constant changes in overall corporate strategy and direction, teams and co-workers bond with ease at Aspect. We need to, as it was critical for survival and to get that much-needed pep talk from co-workers. This is a positive in working at Aspect. The variety of solutions Aspect offers, is awesome, (although there is a lot of confusion from a go-to-market standpoint, driven by a series of acquisitions). If you are highly strategic and have the ability to define a customer's requirements with ease, and plug-in solutions for customers, Aspect usually has one....(although they usually can't deliver or it takes time to be able to quote it). You need to really be strategic in working with prospects and customers at Aspect. Forward-thinking is great. here. Many smart/new minds on-board, but the challenge is the antiquated slow-moving internal processes.

Cons

Compensation was not in-line with the industry standard for my role, or my skill-set. Further, the work-life balance is not there. At Aspect, you better be prepared to work like a dog, and if you do, it will pay off. At Aspect, everything is FAR MORE DIFFICULT than it needs to be. The processes are antiquated. Nothing is easy to get done here. It takes weeks to vet a customer solution, provide a quote, scope of work, and present a solution. Aspect is VERY slow-moving. Not fast-paced. It's daunting because you work three to four times as hard as you need to, in order to get anything done. The direction, and constant changes, within the company are a constant struggle. New management and execs are brought in....with different management styles, and teams are thrown off by the constant new direction by management. Aspect has a weird mix of people there. As Aspect was originally Rockwell First Point (Years ago), and "grew into" Aspect, there are a LOT of people at Aspect who are legacy employees, who still have the "old school" mentality and don't understand cloud solutions. The old regime of employees are mixed with the new (from their Voxeo acquisition), and it's a strange way to do business when you have the old school people working there, merged with the more nimble and quick employees. It's frustrating at times. As far as career advancement goes.......When you have four managers in 4 years, it's hard to look at any opportunity for career advancement.
