Pros

The residents are the reason to work there. They are wonderful and it is quite fulfilling to know you are helping them love their home.

Cons

The company is cheap. They do not pay well and they expect too much from there employees. They really care more about sales then they do the staff or residents. They will do ANYTHING for a sale. Staff turnover is very high. The location I worked at had multiple staff in each position in just one year.

Pros

Working with seniors and the employees are excellent. Able to make a difference in both the residents and employees daily lives.

Cons

Atria is very bottom line focused. The ED is just a glorified Sales Person, expected to make sales calls and book suites. No real authority to make purchases or major decisions without the approval of the vice president who is very hard to reach, returns calls only if you are lucky., and takes forever to make decisions. Very frustrating company to work for. I feel sorry for the employees who are paid peanuts for the great work that they do. Surprised that the unions are not sniffing at the door as this would be a perfect opportunity.
