Decent Company

Pros

They do pretty well with work life balance and benefits. They are a pretty stable company that doesn't really lay off their employees.

Cons

Cheap cheap cheap. They don't spend any money on their employees. It's about the least fun you can imagine any place being. They avoid change like the plague and same with new ideas and innovation. If you just want a stable job and don't care about career growth or having fun then this place is for you.

Urgent Care

Pros

Several available benefits, Great support staff. Plenty of overtime available. Working additional shifts pay rate is great(if you are not too tired to work more hours then the already mandatory overtime.)

Cons

Long hours. Huge percentage of income based on ability to make patients happy, not based on appropriate medical care. Lack of work life balance. Hard to take vacation days. Several providers are leaving and no changes are being made to keep anyone happy. This puts a great deal of stress on the staff who remain. Insurance with very high deductible plan starting 2016.

Healthcare suffers from too many metrics

Pros

Worked with a lot of very smart and caring people who want to do the right thing. There are many areas within the healthcare system who are striving to be the best

Cons

There is too much emphasis on metrics and often the metrics cloud how the expectations impact the work that is being done at the ground level. Doing "more with less" has been the motto for years and it shows on the stress level of many teammates.
