Great company, terrible, terrible pay plan

Pros

Very systematic Decent schedule Room to grow Constant training Managers stand up for their employees Can move to pretty much anywhere in the country

Cons

Terrible pay plan for the industry. Bring back the old pay plan or something a salesperson can actually live off of. Especially to compensate for the cost of living in Southern California! Takes forever to accumulate pto. Gives 1 week for the first year where most places give 2 weeks. Don't be so cheap! We make you tons of money!

We appreciate your feedback on your position with AutoNation. We are disheartened to hear about your disappointment with the structure of our goals. Goals help us to stay competitive and grow, but we try to balance the challenge of meeting goals with providing the great benefits we pride ourselves on. We’ll be sure to keep your advice in mind when it comes to revamping our business goals and pay structure.

Pros

Base pay, room to move up within the company really fast, great compensation is not in regular sales floor.

Cons

Pay plans change from one month to another, corporate buffs always on you about any little thing, higher position than a sales person prepare to work 8:30am to 9,10,11,12 at night.

Pros

If you stay long enough, you will make many new friends with all of the sales associates who will come and go.

Cons

Poor pay plan; Unrealistic expectations; Long hours; Constantly trying to find new ways of taking the little money they actually pay; No respect from management team; Managers have limited management skills, but were probably good car salesmen and connections to be promoted; this list could go on for some time.
