Pros

remote, competitive pay, health benefits

Cons

They had MULTIPLE UX designers come and go in one year, because of the toxic environment the UX management made. Everything that can be toxic is in this company ESP with UX management. -Political Environment -extreme micro management -No control over any design decisions -A boss that will demand for a lot and not appreciate anything I and the other UX designers that let go were so disturbed by this position that we questioned our career and our ability. Fortunately, after this I was able to move on and have a good company that valued me and promoted me on my work ethic so I realized it's not me

Pros

Can be alright if you’re not in the research and development team

Cons

- Constructive criticism is brushed off as negativity. You can have a face to face meeting with the CEO and still have no resolution to some of the most pressing issues. - If you disagree with leadership consistently, you are removed from power or terminated. - There is no real direction for the product. The original core application that was originally planned is now ignored for shiny things. - Teams are told that they are empowered, and then get assigned large feature sets to finish by a certain date. This defeats the purpose of why we wanted to switch to this methodology. - If you’re expecting a smooth developer career progression, look elsewhere. People who are close to management get hired in at the Senior level with no interview, even becoming promoted to Technical Manager within a few weeks. This is a slap in the face to everyone on our team that has worked years to earn that title. - Management plays favorites. Get on their good side if you know what’s good for you. - Can’t really trust some of your peers. I kid you not when I say, that you have to be careful what you say around your peers, lest it reach leadership’s ears. - There is distrust even between Sales and the CEO. The reports generated by our tool and the numbers reported by Sales are usually different. This has led to a culture of distrust even outside development.

Let me start by thanking you for the feedback. You were very open and transparent in your review and I will do my best to reply with the same mindset. I want you to know that I take your feedback sincerely, we are going through a lot of changes as a product and development organization and moving very quickly to hit our goals. We can always improve, and feedback like this drives me and leadership to do so. I do agree, that we need to work harder on progression plans and we are, as well as potential, additional incentives for our teams. I do not agree with your statement regarding “there is no real direction for the product”, as we have very concrete plans in place for all areas of our product and have clear goals and milestones we are looking to accomplish in the coming months, and years. We have already seen great benefits from the transformation to agile, and it has also identified weaknesses where we can improve to ensure long-term success. If you do not feel this way, I would encourage you to talk to your manager, as they should have a clear understanding of the direction we are taking. My door is always open as well. And lastly, we have a strong culture here, focused on the customer experience, hard work, open communication, transparency and ownership and accountability. We certainly aren’t for everyone, but many people have built successful careers, and truly enjoy working at Autosoft.

Pros

friendly co-workers, wellness program, free T-shirts, remote work for most roles

Cons

I would encourage anyone who is thinking about joining Autosoft to sort these reviews by date and you'll see a change over the last two to three years. Before that, there were many long, positive reviews, not now. I was with Autosoft for several years and lived through these changes. When I first started, Autosoft seemed amazing for an employee! Best job I ever had. Work environment was great. PTO was plentiful and flexible. They would give out gifts and T-Shirts all the time. They have this service called Bonusly where you can reward your co-workers with points for doing something above and beyond. Employees can redeem those points for gift cards and a few other rewards. Slowly over the last few years there has been a change; all those perks have been cut back. PTO can't be rolled over any more at year end and long-term employees had up to eight days of PTO a year taken away depending on their tenure. The shirts and gifts don't come as frequently. Even the Bonusly rewards were cut back. The longer you're at Autosoft though, you'll see the big issue is management. I don't know any of my co-workers who trust the CEO. The new Saas DMS was scheduled to come out this year after years and years of delays, but still nothing. I can't begin to count all the sales, marketing, and other executives who came and went while I worked here. People will come and go at any company, but for one this size, the turnover is crazy. What typically happened was some new managers would come in, try to implement a new process or strategy and then either give up and leave or would find themselves without a job when the CEO changed his mind about whatever they were doing. Rinse and Repeat.
