Pros

The team culture was nice and the supervisors and SME’s were always helpful and informative. They offer fully remote work which is nice. The pay was decent for the position itself.

Cons

It’s a very highly metric oriented job. The call volumes are high, especially when there are system issues or tool issues, which does happen frequently. Short breaks that are scheduled for you & the break times vary day to day. If you’re comfortable with high call volumes and doing nothing but answering calls all day from typically frustrated clients, then you may be a good fit. People do advance with this company, but you will have to make sure your metrics scores are almost perfect in every area to be considered.

Thank you for this candid review. We work hard to provide a diverse, inclusive, and productive culture. Our culture is one of the many reasons we are on a few of the Great Places to Work™ lists, including for millennials and women. A few other reasons we are a great workplace include offering a healthy work-life balance through remote work and many other benefits, such as competitive pay, generous time-off, wellness reimbursements, etc. Thanks to the efforts of our outstanding Client Services Team, Availity is known in the industry for our customer service excellence. Availity Client Services Associates are well-trained and highly skilled at helping clients and users tackle some challenges they may encounter within our systems. Sometimes, we experience higher-than-average call volumes for various reasons, but we work hard to coordinate as an organization to mitigate this when/where we can. This position can make each customer feel important regardless of the issue. We are a technology company and will encounter challenges along the way. However, how we respond is critical to our success in providing our clients with what they need at that moment. The metrics and service goals we have in place provide us with the data we need to scale and grow the team while delivering a consistent user experience. Thank you for mentioning that several Client Services Associates have been promoted into other business areas at Availity—because so many have throughout the years. For those new to healthcare, Availity Client Services is an excellent way to build a lasting career. We appreciate your feedback and wish you much success in your next chapter.

Pros

Good benefits for healthcare and 401k matching

Cons

Does not want employees to move up to different departments. If you want to move to a different role you have to either be buddy buddy with management or look at other companies that will see your worth.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback about your experience with Availity. We are sorry that you felt your time with us was not positive. We strive to put every associate in the best position to succeed. Many of our associates began their Availity careers in Client Services before moving to different roles and departments. We offer job shadowing opportunities for client services team members to explore technical, operational, and business roles outside of the department through our popular Passport Program. In 2021 we promoted 50 associates from client services, and already since January 2022, we have promoted 31 associates from client services. We are in the middle of our annual engagement survey but based on over 80% of responses collected so far, team engagement survey scores are trending exceptionally positive, currently outpacing industry benchmarks for the Top 10% of Call Centers for both career growth opportunities and professional development. Job postings are available to everyone, and internal candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply. Some of our hiring managers even prefer candidates from Client Services. Networking with management or leadership is not required to move up at Availity; however, networking is a valuable skill for career development.
