Pros

They paid me, which was nice.

Cons

Management is awful, HR was cliquey and mean. Fun to note too, sort the reviews here by date and watch the ratings trends. Isn't it SO WEIRD that all of these 5 star reviews started popping up after their rating tanked? Hmmm... They're not trying to stack reviews or anything...

Thank you for your feedback. We recognize that in the past we were remiss in not participating in the conversation. But since early this year as part of a broader communication strategy, we’ve been making a concerted effort to respond to reviews quickly, and people have appreciated that and are more engaged. It’s human nature when we have a less than satisfactory experience, to share that information with friends, family, and colleagues. But most often when we have a satisfactory experience or better, we don’t share information because that’s just what we expect. We apologize that your time at BDA wasn’t satisfactory and think what you’re seeing on Glassdoor with our ratings increasing is more positive participation and people at BDA speaking up that genuinely enjoy their work, clients, and colleagues. People have friends here, they make their livelihoods here, and provide for their families based upon the success of the company. We don’t take those things for granted and neither do our associates. When somebody posts inaccurate information that threatens those things, they, as do we, feel compelled to share our experiences, which are different than yours, and that’s o.k. That’s the beauty of this medium, everybody gets to have their say and gets to feel their own way. If you would be open to sharing more details about your experience, we would like to hear from you. Please contact us at feedback@bdainc.com.

Pros

It seemed as though the company was run by a 21 year old. Lots of fun work parties/events. Free unlimited food/drinks at the events. All the departments go all out for Halloween. The coworkers are incredible and really help you get through the day. Help is often available if you seek it. Supervisors will send emails out to the whole team when one person is overwhelmed. I definitely do not regret the experience I got out of this. It doesn't feel like an entry level role because you experience the same problems that people who have been there for 5+ years experience, and it is a great introduction to the fast paced corporate world.

Cons

It seemed as though the company was run by a 21 year old. Very poor distribution of work, where some people will be there 11 hours a day and some people leave early every day. Often given very ambiguous tasks with little direction. Success often goes unnoticed and 1 problem seems like the end of the world. EXTREMELY unrealistic bonus structure, where you have to reach about 99% accuracy in each category in order to bonus. And there are 2 ways to bonus, but to get the second one you have to achieve the first one, but since it is so unrealistic everyone pretty much gets nothing. And the Client Services Coordinator on your team cannot bonus unless the PSA bonuses, so again, no one bonuses.

Hi, Thank you for sharing your observations. We’re glad you have enjoyed the BDA parties and company events. We work hard, play hard and like to see our team having a good time. We’re sorry to hear that you were unhappy with the work-life balance at BDA. Work-life balance is vital to the success of our company and our associates. While there are standards in place for the number of hours that we spend working, we recognize that the pace of our growth has at times pushed all of us to our individual limits. It’s important for us to recognize that we’re all human and inherently different while also maintaining compliance with the standards. As we grow, we are simultaneously working to make expectations and responsibilities clearer for each role on the team, and we are collecting feedback along the way to help us improve. If you would be open to sharing more details about your experience, we would like to review them to inform our efforts. Please contact us at any time at feedback@bdain.com. Sincerely, BDA Team

Pros

Some pretty nice and fun employees, fun parties, learned how to deal with very difficult people, learned how to only care about my own well-being in a job. I did get some good industry knowledge (not like I will ever go back to that industry). Working here will help you understand what to look out for and avoid when searching for a new job. The glowing, positive reviews you see on here that bash the negative posts, that is upper management trying to cover things up again. CEO is nice and if he doesn’t know your name will just say “Hey buddy!”

Cons

BDA is literally a revolving door. I have never in my career worked at such a toxic place. Worst HR team I have ever encountered. One HR rep even asked about an anonymous phone call that was made to the company where you can get anonymous legal advice...they talked about employees to other employees, never followed up on any issue that was brought up or asked employees for their take on an issue that may arrise. If there is something going on with a team or department, upper management will find someone to "pin" it on just to cover their own butts and the real culprit will be rewarded. Bad employees aren’t dealt with even when yelling or swearing meetings. Oh, swearing is almost a must if you work here, especially on the co-owners team...
