Pros

The people are the best part. They also moved me to a new city which was a personal goal of mine.

Cons

I worked at BDA a very long time and I worked my butt off for a place that saw me as just a a COG. It took some time but I finally realized and got out. I realized it as soon as I was screwed out of a VERY large bonus on the smallest technicality and they refused to show me their findings for it. I realized it as soon as the CEO lied straight to my face about it. I realized it when my boss told me I was toxic, even though I made 80% over my budget and was nominated for an award. I realized it when I came back to work after being on FMLA and received no call or note from my VP checking in on me. All in all, just avoid this place. They talk about team and family but they in reality.....it’s all smoke and mirrors.

While we value revenue growth over budget, if it’s done in a way that creates discourse with the team it’s not worth it. Bonus plans are documented clearly in order to avoid any questions of “technicalities.” Employees either hit it or they don’t, and it’s managed by finance and HR, not the CEO. We are grateful for your 8 years of service and it sounds like you are on your way to finding something better for you. We wish you well!

Pros

BDA employs some really great, salt of the Earth people. Working from home flexibility is great. Opportunities to work on some really fun projects. Fun employee events and Beer Fridays.

Cons

Very hard work and a strenuous workload. You will not work 40 hours. CSC's are very underpaid for what they do, but there are opportunities to be promoted.

Thank you for the compliments and comments on things we can work on. We are continually trying to find the balance between what we offer our clients and what we offer our employees, so the balance will become easier to manage.

Pros

Free parking -- but that's necessary as the place is located along a 2-lane highway in an area without buses or sidewalks. If you are a white guy straight out of college who thinks a free bottle of cheap beer on a Friday afternoon is a perk, this might be a great place for your starter job.

Cons

Owners behave badly -- shouting, swearing, behaving sexually aggressively -- and are defended by HR as "they never went to business school". My kids never went to business school and they know better than that. And they're teenagers. Salaries are low -- unless you're a sales person in a sales role, you'll make more money anywhere else. And forget about bonuses -- operations rarely qualify. On my team, my female colleagues make less than the male colleagues, despite having similar or even more experience. HR brushes this off as "BDA never pays well", ignoring the equal pay laws. Apart from the people who need to stay for flexibility or ease of commute, everyone seems to be looking for a job. Morale is in the tank. Oh, and Halloween? It's "off the hook" as other reviewers say because employees are expected to donate their own time and money to take part in the elaborate decorations. The ownership are technophobic and lack the focus and will to grow their business. They refuse to invest in the things that could bring the place into the 21st century -- basic things, like better wifi in the building, faster servers, better computers.

We are passionate about our business, our clients, and our successes that set us apart. We don’t defend any shouting or swearing, only recognize that people are people, and sometimes that passion comes out in less than positive ways. Your comment about sexual aggressiveness is concerning. Any experience at BDA that is uncomfortable or unsafe must be brought to the HR Director or HRVP immediately and it will be addressed. As for bonuses we pay quarterly bonuses to operations to those who qualify based on success factors. We pay people based on experience and contribution; gender has nothing to do with it. We are entrepreneurial, not afraid to tackle the impossible, and growing leaps and bounds, so we bring in new up-leveled talent and pay for it accordingly. Since you state you are a current employee, we sincerely hope you reach out to management or HR to engage in our Career Development process, but more importantly, to talk through some of these things so it can get better. Without giving us the direct opportunity to address your concerns, things will only remain the same and that is not good for you or us.
