conservative leader, mediocre product with little investment to improve it

Pros

Some really smart co-workers and managers.

Cons

Product does not improve over time. Management puts time and energy into partners instead of product, which is not a good long-term strategy. Departments don't really work well together. For a small company, there's too much disagreement and distrust between groups. Values say the company is 'fun' and 'authentic', but neither is actually true. CEO is paternalistic, pushing healthy food and flaunting his personal fitness, his childrens' accomplishments, his wealthy lifestyle, etc. It's a strange atmosphere -- not really respectful of individuals of all types. Lots of remote employees, yet working at home for locals is discouraged.

bill.com has lost its direction with uncertain future...

Pros

Highly charismatic CEO with good interactions with its employees. Overall great people to work with

Cons

Company is unable to attract best talent and current employee retention is awful. Uncertain future with restructuring that makes no sense. Company continues beg for VC money even after 7 years and has yet to proven that it can use this money to good innovation. Product design/experience is very outdated and that's really alarming

I’m seeing impressive action and execution on product vision and execution in both marketing and product, with tangible results --- it’s exciting to see, and I am confident it is just the beginning. Bill.com's channels of distribution are growing with focus and evolving rigor, and we are making adjustments where necessary. We have an amazing, highly intelligent, FUN and friendly crew. This is a GREAT place this is to work --- the potential is limitless. This company has a rapid growth trajectory, driven by loyal customers and committed, passionate employees; Bill.com will flourish with new career opportunities as it grows. Bill.com offers strong and competitive compensation.

Cons

This is not exclusive to Bill.com...change is hard for some; change in structure, management, roles, and particularly change in culture. However, change is also vital to successful transformation from start-up to new heights. Perks/benefits (beyond strong base comp) could help to better gain/retain employees.
