      Good benefits, work-life balance but horrible upper management

      Pros

      Benefits are good(especially because they are free), work-life balance(nobody seems to work after 3 even while at work), great development environment, they have great developers

      Cons

      Pay below average, all eggs in 1 basket so constant layoffs, upper management has the good ole boy mentality and doesn't seem to care until the , good people but not the best for the positions they hold(everybody is a VP or Director of something)

      2013 and 2014 seem to be a sore spot with similar comments, and even though we are far removed from this period I would like to respond. 2015/16 saw a complete turnover in leadership for BTS. Our new team is small and has a combined 100 years experience in military and corporate leadership. We have diversified our contracts to ensure we do not experience the same ebbs and flows of the past.

      Good benefits and pay, nice office

      Cons

      Inadequate middle-level management. Simply remaining employed by the company for several years shouldn't necessarily qualify someone as an executive. Also, the communication downwards just plain stinks.

      Your advice has been taken and implemented! So many companies get caught up in titles and promote or hire people as the VP of everything. Since 2015 when David Tohn took over as CEO, BTS has focused on building a small and competent leadership team that focuses on communication and effective program management. This has eliminated the need for unnecessary middle management all together. We have turned into a flat organization and eliminated the communication barrier between our people and the C-Suite. We pride ourselves on our level of collaboration.

      This was a fair point that was addressed in 2015 with a laser focused direction, a streamlined leadership structure, and an understanding that sustained and stable growth is supported by products AND services. Thank you for your comments.
