Program working is challenging, peers for the most part are great to work with.

Cons

Middle management at the SBU level does not promote from within and only want "yes" people in this positions. If you have an opinion you will be a cast-away on and island by yourself.

- Interesting work in a non-cubical environment.

Cons

- Terrible pay. Manager will negotiate pay then lie and not give it to you. - Your customer can be ANYONE and your responsibilities can be ANYTHING. Don't expect to be paid more when all the sudden the customer expects you to lead the other four developers he hired. - Work overload. Because no one will be experienced in your field at the customer site, so deadlines and crunch time (or 'hackathon') are abundant. - Manager expects you to do his job for him. Appraisals every 6 months do nothing. - No advancement.
