Pros

I worked for the company for a number of years. Very competitive salary, with 401k, stock program(ESOP), and annual bonus. Very involved in industry organizations. Regardless of department you are in, have the ability to interact directly with almost all other departments in the company. Majority of people are very friendly.

Cons

Very limited advancement and favoritism was blatantly obvious, high turnover. Very inconsistent on application of policies, and anyone with 20+ years on the technical side operated with impunity for what they did and how they treated people. As other reviewers commented, HR is the pits. Got a new VP, but same people in department, most brought in by her predecessor. They cyber stalk you on Facebook and Linkedin(LI) and "strongly encouraged" you to use their template for your LI bio and write positive reviews on multiple career sites, and could provide guidelines for you to use. Very little direction or engagement from HR on development, and anything you told them went directly back to your supervisor. With current, President seems to be purge of anyone that expresses contrary opinion, pushed to fix problems, or questioned anything. Middle management had become bloated, with manager to worker ratio very low. What company uses as measurements, metrics, changed annually and anything they didn't exceed was dropped the next year. Tout Lean, yet stopped measuring in office because could not consistently score above goal. Used salary exempt as a stick, some departments expected to be available after hours, without providing on-call pay, yet had to make up missing 15 minutes for appointment. A lot of back stabbing at manager/director level and retaliation was common place. Generally no confidence or respect for any upper management, people did out of fear and not respect, buy in, or understanding of why. Overall, went from being very upbeat to depressing place to work. If you have experience, keep looking for someplace else.
