No leadership to be found. Company going downhill fast.

Pros

Pay and benefits. There are some really good people that work here but they aren't in management positions.

Cons

No leadership, everyone is looking out for themselves especially in middle management and above. HR department has become a joke and does nothing to support the company. No training program at all so no growth opportunity for employees. Like many other companies this one has a "Core" set of values which it does not really support or live up to.

Once was a great company

Pros

I spent a good number of years with this company and have become a better both personally and professionally as a result of my tenure. At one time, the company was well run with good, if not great management. The employees are generally good and care about their work and the company. The headquarters location is in a great part of the country to live and the facilities are nice.

Cons

Today, the company is full of "yes" men in management. They are directed like puppets by an eccentric CEO who works out of Chicago and either changes his mind or can't remember what he thought the last time he visited. As others have said, they have systematically removed most of the leadership several layers down over the last 5 years for who knows what reason. Most of the knowledgable people have either retired or been terminated. The president's position has gone from a capable introvert, to a gregarious, incompetent back stabber, to an egotist who enjoys listening to himself talk.

Company does not thank its employees enough for the hard work they do.
