Pros

I have learned a very hard life lesson. Evil corporations will ruin people. There will be no justice, in this life, for those who fall victim.

Cons

This company should not be listing this position as commission based. In actuality you will be spending a lot of your own money. These costs include leads that have little to no value, cell phone for the hundreds of calls you will be making, all travel expenses, plus a laptop and IPad. Of course these can be written off on your taxes but footing all these expenses out front can be burdensome to someone who does not have the means to pay to work. It should also be noted that even when you write a policy, everyone in your office gets a piece. So if by some chance home office actually issues it months later, its a mere spit in your bucket. Which brings me to another issue, be prepared for not having any checks regularly issued. Home office will either not issue, not inform you of missing info so discrepancies can be cleared before they destroy you and if they do give you a check it won't be long before they charge it back and leave you and your family broke. Bonuses are the carrot on the end of the stick. 5 years.. Every time, my bonus has been taken away at the last second over some detail that came out of nowhere. I have faced eviction 3 times this year, haven't had a check in 2 months and will most likely lose my home by the end of the month, just in time for the holidays. Combat Vet with young kids. Thanks Bankers!

Pros

Learned lots about different products out there that are available to retirees. Get to be mentored by experienced agents who have had success. Company training for new agents and for agents that achieve their Successful New Agent requirements was valuable. Only two required office days which allows for flexible schedules. Friendly work environment.

Cons

You live or die by the phones. If you do not have sales experience then you will experience a learning curve, 100% commission can be an emotional roller coaster if you are not seasoned and consistent week in and week out.

Pros

Team makes you feel like family, but does not help by informing you of the reality of whats expected and what is really going on....

Cons

Contract is set up for Bankers to receive all money back if and when you leave company in a timeframe of up to 2years, Investment is a scam, management continually gives instructions last minute, Agent care is a long ghetto tedious process, I spent most days correcting paperwork and hours on the phone with agentcare .Very low class environment. My wife wanted to join ..instead we ran away from this company. Beware. Yes Owning your own business requires work. Yes you must give extra effort to grow a business , management at many Bankers life locations are crooks and I can assure you if and when you leave this company you will owe them money. My wife and I are not lazy. We left based on the fact this company has too many issues ...Honesty and proper communication being a few to start. They pray on the uneducated to be agents, and the elderly that have no clue whats going on...
