"Everybody Matters" Really?

Pros

• Pay isn't bad • Good for someone just out of college. • Rapid growth • Good people to work with • No sick days. If you're sick then don't come in—they don't count against your vacation days

Cons

This has been the most disappointing job I've ever had, so for me it's a job until I find something better. • The saying around here is "Everybody Matters" or "Go home feeling fulfilled." I've never been fulfilled here. • There are definitely favorites here that's why "Everybody Matters" should be "Everybody Matters but Some Matter More." • Culture may be great is some departments, but not mine. • CEO has nice vision, but he is old school and it's hard to get him to accept new ideas and move forward. • Medical insurance is VERY high. I can't afford to have my family on it so we have an HSA. • If you don't drink the Kool-Aid then you get labeled as a "non team player" and you get left out of everything (meetings)

Everybody Matters but some Matter more than others

Pros

If you must have a job this will work until something better comes along. They have added hot chocolate to go with the coffee

Cons

We hear the manta "everybody matters" but it should be "Everybody Matters but some Matter more than others" Just like Animal Farm we are feed a constant diet of how much we matter but when all is said and done we are doing nothing more than add to company profits. Since our company was purchased our insurance rates more than doubled while the coverage only a fraction of what it was. An employee and spouse have to pay the same high rates as a family of ten. We are offered a slight discount if we jump though the hoops getting checkups, exercising and taking online classes on our time. We are told this is because the company cares about us, what they care about any savings we can make in the company's health care costs which adds to their bottom line.

Pros

It's hard to get fired, if you're mediocre at your job you don't need to worry about losing it.

Cons

There's a lot of propaganda about the great culture, which I haven't seen at my division. Do you like hearing about a brilliant, revolutionary CEO, that is neither? Because you'll hear a lot of talk of the greatness of Bob Chapman. There's no room for advancement, in five years I've seen two people promoted from a department of more than twenty people. The insurance is garbage, expensive, and the cost scales with your salary, so if you make more it costs more.
