Good local RO culture

Pros

The local RO culture is a good one and the local manager is actually trying to keep this going. Most of the teams have good, friendly and helpful people. The environment is pleasant and office and equipment adequate and continuously improving. There is an interesting mix of extra benefits.

Cons

Wages are on the low side, even if many years ago Basware RO was famous for having the best people and the best salaries. You don't have any possibility to renegotiate your salary, and the yearly increases are like a third of the local inflation (so you basically get a real purchasing power cut every year). Even if there is a clear desire not to hire toxic people, sometimes because internal personnel is being promoted, that does not have proper managing training and human relation skills, they turn out not to be the best choice (quite the opposite in some teams). This could be corrected but it does not really happen as it would involve hiring from outside (which would imply paying them competitive salaries).

Pros

The company fosters a positive and inclusive work environment. Management is approachable, and colleagues are always willing to collaborate and share ideas. There’s a strong sense of teamwork that makes it easy to navigate challenges together. Example: In my team, we often held brainstorming sessions where everyone’s input was valued. It really helped bring out creative solutions to problems we faced on projects. Professional Development Opportunities: Basware invests in employees' growth through regular training sessions, workshops, and seminars. I was given the chance to improve my skills and even attend conferences, which helped me stay updated on industry trends. Example: I was able to attend a leadership training course, which allowed me to step into more responsibilities and grow within my role.

Cons

During some high-pressure moments, there was a push to meet deadlines, but the company ensured we had the tools and resources needed to succeed, and managers were understanding of the challenges we faced.

Pros

Autonomy to act and make decisions. Flexibility. Dynamic environment with lots of change and new opportunities and challenges. The people are great and there is a very supportive environment. Good balance between work and home life. People are seen as important, not simply a resource to be exploited.

Cons

Lots of change - not for you if you like a stable situation. Customer focus needs to improve and you may need to cope with some of the effects. Not the most rewarding financially - don't expect big pay rises and bonuses. Training and development concentrates on product and technical skills, unless you are in a managerial role.
