Thank you for sharing your review with us. We are sorry to hear that your experience fell far short of the one we aim to provide to our team members. Beacon aims to hire talented employees who can improve our operations so that the organization can execute our mission with the best results. The executive team works to be transparent by communicating about company-wide programs and changes before they occur. Please know your review will be shared with that team as we take all employee feedback very seriously, especially when a member of our Beacon team feels they have been mistreated. Thank you for commenting on employee engagement activities. We place a great deal of importance in creating genuinely engaged employees, and those engagement activities are a small piece of that puzzle. Thank you again for providing this review. Sincerely, Darlene

Pros

The illusion of life/work balance. The continued insinuation of a family-like culture. One very true positive element of Beacon's mission is providing people very very nice places for folks to call home.

Cons

Conference Calls and/or Meetings to discuss having a Conference Call and/or Meeting with the entire world for items that do not deal directly or even indirectly with what you do. Cannot voice an opinion or idea unless it is inline with upper management. Have to be Beaconized and be a Beaconite or you will not succeed. Many of the upper management teams can be condescending. Workload is not always realistic for anyone who is not a workaholic. Requirements of supervisors for time management is a joke. Oh wait, we must be scheduling a meeting, or having a meeting. Beacon's transparency is a bit askew.

Pros

* Very fair, decent compensation and benefits * Upper (Corporate) management seems to care about the employees and the company as a whole * Upper (Corporate) management makes a sincere effort to be accessible for the employees * The company itself inspires a sense of pride in representing a decent product * You often have the tools you need to do your job effectively * Much growth occurring throughout the portfolio

Cons

* Poor management on a site level * Frequently hire people that aren't necessarily right for their management roles * Transparency is touted but it really only applies to only certain individuals within the company * Points of view from employees will likely be seen as negative if the opinion is not in line with theirs * Expectations for job duties one person is able to perform can be extremely high and unrealistic, leading to talent burnout * They are very quick to roll out new policies without proper training before hand * Communication lacking from site level managers to other employees * Negativity from site level management can be demoralizing and cause a lack of team cohesion * Team members fear speaking their mind for fear of negative backlash from their immediate supervisors
