Pros

There are few pros to share about being employed here. They don't provide company computers when working remotely, in-office perks or other benefits to offset the pay. There is potential to make decent money from commission, but that is dependent on the clients your manager chooses to work with and the job market and thus ultimately dependent on the team you join.

Cons

Experiences probably vary depending on your team and manager. In my experience, we were expected to work at all hours during the work week beyond a "normal" 9-5, really it was closer to 7-7. Constant miscommunication between management and employees, unrealistic expectations for new hires, low base salary, insufficient training, lack of constructive feedback & criticism, extreme micromanagement, unprofessional and toxic team dynamics, oversized scope of responsibilities and outdated processes that desperately need to be modernized. Lack of respect for the recruiters who are constantly overloaded with new reqs with little pay off. Managers run the place like it's 1993 and maintain business with clients who take weeks and sometimes months to communicate, resulting in high candidate drop-off and lots of wasted time and effort. The team may work on a req for several weeks with no feedback only to be told the client suddenly canceled the job or filled it internally. There is no amount of money worth the stress and mental toll this job takes on you. The tech team makes the most commission because they work on reqs with the highest salaries.

I applied to a job through Beacon Hill and was contacted by a consultant via email a few days later asking for me to call and discuss my experiences and job search. I called shortly after receiving the email and we spoke about my work history and what I’m looking for career wise. The conversation ended with the consultant giving me a time and date to meet to which I confirmed, and was told an email would be sent to me after the call to give me the details such as the address and confirmation of the date and time. The day passed and I never received that email. The day of the “meet” arrived and I called the consultant hours before we were scheduled to meet to confirm, since the confirmation email with the details were never sent to me. I left a voicemail asking for my call to be returned and to confirm we were still on, but I didn’t get a response. The time we were supposed to meet came and went, and I never heard a thing. This agency has left a bad taste in my mouth.
