Pros
Opportunities to be involved in the implementation of interventions. There were several opportunities to obtain a leadership role. BCBA was very open-minded on the collaboration and contribution of ideas. Working with the kids is extremely rewarding and you get amazing hands on experience if you are seeking a future career as a mental health professional.
Cons
Poor pay and poor benefits for RBT’s which resulted in a high turn over rate and reflected on the company as a whole. Poor pay= low quality therapist and lower quality therapeutic care for clients. Job requirements don’t match with pay and is not competitive with the ABA market in the area. Leadership roles that were offered did not come with a raise, they came with a lot more responsibilities and work for the same pay. Company is profit centered rather than client centered. The first year you get 5 days of PTO sencond year and on you get 10 days of PTO as an RBT.
