Pros

-Wide range of clients so therapists are exposed to various cases, behaviors, etc. -Close bond between therapists -BCBA's are intelligent and experienced

Cons

-Disorganization at times on the administrative side -Work climate is very tense because of Therapist dissatisfaction -Profit driven, not based on quality of care -Pay is not equal to work you are required/asked to do. -Not much opportunity to advance within company or increase pay. -Having to ask for lunch breaks to be put into schedule just to have a break -Arbitrary pay rates and the lowest pay in the area for Behavior Therapist

A good stepping stone

Pros

-Pay for your RBT certification -Teach valuable skills to therapists that transfer to a lot of jobs -support from other staff members -put you with different kids based on your strengths -flexible schedule, understanding of family emergencies and last minute things -advance from within

Cons

-little money spent on classrooms. Teachers provide a lot -possibility of physical harm to therapist, admin doesn't really care once their legal liability is out of the way -high turnover, don't know if it's the low pay or the hard work -management will do what brings in the most money. Rarely sends sick kids home and manipulates insurance rates
