Horrible, Arrogant Leadership & No Career Growth

Pros

After three years, 100% quarterly bonus CEO/President is very friendly, but oblivious to how some executives run things.

Cons

Slow to No Career Growth Arrogant Management Low Payscale No Work Life Balance Earned Time Off is minimal in comparison to other OC employers Current staff is much older, and have an "old Man's club" mentality. They expect their staff to devote entire life to the company with nothing in return outside of a quarterly bonus. Management has convinced/brainwashed employees that this is one of the "best places to work in OC". They gloat about receiving that honor from the OC Register every year. The offices are old fashioned, cubicle farms where life is sucked slowly from each employee until they die, quit or submit to the Behr Lifestyle. Most companies give bonuses!! Behr boasts this wonderful place to work with great benefits prior to being hired and once you are hired and the shiny new wears off... you realize this is where careers go to die.

Like the product they manufacture, the company is not worth it.

Pros

Able to gain extra experience by learning on my own, no thanks to the duplicitous supervisor or management. You learn very early that Behr Process is a revolving door with new training classes starting every other week.

Cons

Micro-Management on a whole new level. They will dangle the carrot of full time employment all the while knowing they have no intention of hiring you. You will hear lines like..."That's why you are a keeper", etc. Employees are the sacrificial lambs to the supervisors and director. Honestly, you are there to catch their fall and failures. Company is unwilling to invest in quality employees.

Pros

Hard work is usually recognized through different awards. Entry level employees who want to be promoted should take Behr's education assistance, it's free money to help you get better jobs. Benefits are decent, bonus plan takes full effect after 3 years of employment is is generous and Behr pays a DPSP for your retirement which is good.

Cons

Warmer weather makes you work like a dog to just stay on top of business, meaning lots of overtime and sweat. You don't get paid a lot to start, but after a year you start getting a DPSP plan and then after 3 years you are on a full bonus every three months which increases hourly pay by $3 a hour average or more. Some employees may not plan to stick around for 3 years, or are temps which mean they don't work very hard and full timers pick up the slack.
