Pros

-There's a nice break-room, well stocked with food. -They will allow you to work remotely in case of inclement weather, sickness, or other legitimate need.

Cons

-Office politics make Washington look like an efficient organization. -Job training was nearly non-existent. -Company alters its organizational structure on a whim. I had 4 managers within a year. -Few middle and lower level employees see it as a long-term career. -"We've always done it this way." God forbid you have a new idea for improvement; be prepared to be chastised for simply having the idea. -Email is treated like text messaging. Be prepared to receive hundreds (no joke) even during off-hours. -Company business is managed by email distribution groups. The CEO is a member of each one. Hundreds of lists. The CEO micromanages every function of the business. -Personal time is not respected. Many employees have become so accustomed to this, they still answer emails on weekends or personal vacation time. -Death by meetings. Dozens per week. -If a mistake is made, real or perceived, the CEO will publicly destroy you. Without doubt, the happiest days in the office are when the CEO is traveling in a sufficiently different time zone. -Upper Management has the opinion that "Our Product is so good, it should sell itself." So when that doesn't happen, it's viewed as a personal failure of employee(s), regardless of the true cause. -I never felt trusted to do my job by any of my managers. My work, even simple emails, was constantly "reviewed" before being accepted. -The company's HR process is laughable. -The company believes it will make employees happy by hosting themed parties/events regularly, or providing free lunch. Is this the 7th grade? I'm happy when I'm paid well, treated with respect, and empowered to do my job, and learn the job above me. None of that happened at Gensuite, which is why I left. -Upper Management is like a bipolar cat entranced by a laser beam. Jumping around from one priority to another, never really completing anything. Barking noise at a project team, then ignoring them, and randomly returning months later. *Also, the company encourages current employees to write positive reviews on this site. Just filter the reviews for current employees, and you'll see they're nearly all positive. That should be suspicious, right? Read a fair selection of reviews before making the mistake of joining this firm.

Pros

Before you read this - no one has asked anyone to write this review... - Things are never dull and are always changing. Some may say that's a con - change is not comfortable for everyone, however it's a young company and growing - change is inevitable! - Yes! Free food and drinks. - Learn a lot and gain valuable experience working with top talent and clients - A team that will push you for your best and in many cases support where support is needed. Remember, as an employee you are required to work and improve your skills! - Compensation - depending on where you start one might think it low - there is plenty of room to grow and make an impact on the company and your personal wallet. - Benefits - where else do health benefits start on day 1? Here! - Company will provide some assistance in HSA funding if you choose a qualifying plan and the plan rates are generous compared to others in the market. - You get to make a difference in simplifying work for your client and ensuring quality products are made and employees remain safe! - Projects change and evolve - Co-workers (mostly) are AWESOME! - Work/life balance is generally pretty good. Gets a bit hectic around the busy times and/or during product releases! It's up to you to be aware of the balance you're allowing. - Recognition happens quite often (monetarily and awards)!

Cons

- Challenging clients and management - require you to bring your best each day. - Co-workers can be clicky and some annoying - people are people, you will learn to adapt - Can feel overwhelmed at times - remember to reach out to your team and management - Communication can be overwhelming or underwhelming at times - communication is a two way street - work at it. Don't be afraid to talk to management! - Coding standards can use some work - it's getting there, but there are different schools of thought at work.

Pros

Some good people at this company. Remote work.

Cons

How does anything get done at this organization? The CEO has to literally approve anything and everything. Micro-managing from the highest position.
