Pros

I’ve had an excellent experience with Benco Dental. From day one, I’ve been impressed by their professionalism, clear communication, and genuine commitment to delivering value. The team is knowledgeable, approachable, and always willing to go the extra mile to support their clients and employees. The company culture fosters collaboration, innovation, and respect, which makes working with them both productive and enjoyable. Leadership is transparent and forward-thinking, and it’s clear they care deeply about both their people and their customers. Overall, this is a company that not only meets expectations but consistently exceeds them. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy, growth-oriented, and people-first organization.

Company Just Not The Same

Pros

My regional co-workers and manager. I consider them close friends and mentors. Not many other “pros” I can think of at this time.

Cons

This company is really lost. Upper management is focused on one thing and one thing only at the moment-becoming a $1B company. Yet, they keep implementing rules and changes such as logging call notes and other administrative types of work that take away face to face time with customers and actually SELLING something. We’ve recently been told our branch sales meetings will now be a day and a half long starting in 2018. I do not know the reason for this and cannot see how taking the entire sales force out of their territories even more can be productive , or benefit their goal of being a $1B company. Our customers want to see us. I imagine this new itinerary will cause considerable problems for single parents, reps who care for elderly parents, and others with similar family and personal responsibilities. I cannot believe upper management got together and decided this is a good idea. This shows just how out of touch they are. I’ve had a long and fulfilling career, and for the first time I find myself asking if I’m now working for the right company. I know other reps are feeling the same. Morale is low.

Pros

If you're a management-level individual with a cutthroat philosophy, and your career has been built upon the backs of the people you've put through hell, then Benco may well be the place for you. If you're a woman, you'll want to watch your back in Benco's good-ol boy club. I write this because the folks I'm recommending this to would probably consider that a PRO item.

Cons

They make promises but won't put them in writing, AND they won't honor them when the time comes. They WILL NOT hire you unless you sign a non-compete clause, and while they tell you it's just protocol, and that they've never heard of it being used, in reality their enforcement of their non-compete is best described as RABID. They will promise you anything, such as a certain territory, and once you've left your current employer and gone to work for Benco, they place you where it best suits them, and they won't even respond to your queries regarding their promises. You WILL work twelve to fourteen hours a day minimum, pretty much every day. Their treatment of employees is marginal at best. If you're desperate for a job, and willing to work very long hours for salary paychecks, it's a job where you'll be able to stay at for as long as you want. In fact, that's ALL you'll be able to do, and if you try to leave to go to the competition in your area, Benco's lawyers will make sure you're left unemployed, even in right-to-work states, unless you're willing to hire your own lawyer (40 to $60,000 average to fight their non-compete), and even then there's no guarantee the new employer will be willing to welcome an employee who's shown that they're willing and able to fight for their rights. I moved across the country, and here a local Service Tech went to work for Benco at higher pay. Now they're running him fourteen hours a day in the worst traffic in the country, and he can't go back to his former employer because they're holding the non-compete over his head, and I'm hearing many of the same stories here, so the policies that make life hell with Benco are almost certainly company-wide. If you can possibly avoid working for Benco, staying away from them is the best move you can make.
