I worked at Bergen's Promise for over two years. Initially, it was not THAT terrible. As time went on and the caseloads increased, it became evident that the only thing this place cares about is numbers to an unattainable degree. While I was still there, the caseloads were 20+, you had to make contact via telephone or email and document a progress note within 24 hours upon receiving a new family, followed by having 72 hours to physically see them at a meeting. This doesn't exclude non business days. If you received a new youth on Friday, and you didn't see them Monday, you were technically late. You have to see every kid once a month or twice if they're a "level 2". Everyone has different schedules so if you were lucky enough to get a meeting, you might wish luck had a better sense of humor because you that meeting may take place at 6,7, or 8 at night. No, there is no overtime. You get "flex time" which you should be entitled to use whenever you choose, but the managers can veto your request and make you take an extended lunch, depending on who was already out from your team. If more than 30% percent were, your request would be denied and you'd need to choose another day. Managers hear you, but don't listen. You get a report every week showing your progress notes, how many you should have had for each family, how timely they were, etc. Mine would have red marks on with NO GOOD because believe it or not, you can't see 20+ families in a given month (and if you have level 2's, forget it), and make notes on time (have to be within 48 hours of seeing the family or speaking to them) and you use "flex time" if you have it, etc. They also have meetings which was basically an excuse to hear themselves talk. Everyone of my close friends have quit here. There were discussions at lunch about how much needs to change. You do not get paid enough for the work you put in. Buyer beware, friendly strangers.
