Good Potential, Clueless Leadership.

Pros

I worked with some of the brightest and talented people.

Cons

The company had two major layoff rounds within six months of each other, and the even got 50 million dollars in funding in between those two layoff rounds. If that doesn't tell you a company's leadership is clueless, then I don't know what will. Bizzabo tries to convey that they really care about Employee Experience, but they don't do anything to actually support employees in doing their job, then they layoff 30% of the company with two weeks of severance, then 5 months later they layoff 40% of what's left, with one week of severance. It was a slap in the face. It seems like their product strategy is "throw things at the wall until something sticks" . They have a product that is so convoluted and disjointed that it's impossible to have a cohesive experience on it. They also could never agree on what direction to go when it comes to enabling customers, so they ended up doing nothing over and over again. It shows through the overworked support and success teams.

Pros

-good onboarding -SOME good leadership -reasonable pay

Cons

-So many, first of all, the product kept having issues. We ran a webinar on our platform and it wouldn't let participants join for a full 8 minutes so we had horrible attendance rates. -Virtually zero diversity, everyone was white or Israeli, very few POC -Also I was hired by someone who I thought would be my boss to only be fired three days into my job. My job roles and duties changed and were never made clear. It felt like I was never supported and didn't contribute to the business because I was not set up for success. -Culture felt toxic and everyone complained about each other - My interview processes made the company seem so much more organized and welcoming than it was, wish I wasn't misled. -Was laid off during the first round and only received TWO weeks of severance and healthcare for the remainder of the month, which felt like an insult. -Had an overall horrible experience working here to the point where I left tech completely and am now back in graduate school.

Pros

Working in the events industry can be rewarding. Customers are grateful.

Cons

Massive platform, stressful working environment, toxic culture. Very little transparency from leadership down. Although the people are nice, you will feel like you are working on an island, no team bonding. Management can be very disrespectful at times, adding more work, decreasing compensation, kicking people off the team without warning. If you are looking for a stress-free workplace this is not it. Onboarding is stressful and rushed.
