Pros

Some of the highest salaries in Jacksonville

Cons

Good salaries, but the environment is horrible for a growing professional. The company has grown through M&A, not innovation. Thus the environment is siloed, and top heavy for promotions, praise, and decision making. Bottom line prevails over company culture. Thus “right-sizing” (aka layoffs) are frequent. This means that everyone not in upper management or in the loop is fearful or very complacent. The company’s main product is written in Cobol, which is technology that back in the 90’s was old. Same can be said for many of their policies and procedures. Not a place to innovate or learn. Benefits are decent but not great. Vacation is not accrued (use it or lose it) and 401K match is insulting (they match 33% of your contribution up to 2%). If you can afford to participate in the Stock Purchase Plan, do so. They match 37% of your participation a year later. But beware that these are golden cuffs. If you leave the company or are terminated, you will lose the match. Same for 401K. Thus, it only works for tenured employees.

Pros

The location of the buildings, adequate parking, gym & cafe on site, and being able to go through the riverwalk during breaks.

Cons

They claim to be inclusive and diverse... they do nothing to actually be that way. You can't move into new roles unless you know someone. They only claim to be military/vetaran friendly, but they don't do anything to help them actually get jobs. Dress code not equally enforced. Some people have purple hair, wear spaghetti strapped, cleavage showing, skin tight dresses, but if you are someone wearing a cap on the campus or even sneakers after exercising, you will get reprimanded. All of the interns are related to executives at the company. well over 80%. Imagine knowing a hardworking, deserving college student/graduate, who gets passed over on an amazing opportunity because the CEO has to have his kids in the intern program... oh and don't forget their friends. Speaking of the CEO and the executibe staff, did we mention that most of them know each other and prevent qualified candidates from moving up or joining the company - so they can strategically position roles for themselves? HR will lie to you or keep the truth from you and occasionally they'll allow drama and unnecessary situations to happen, as they won't intervene when things are reported. They also do unethical things that some are afraid to talk about due to fear of retaliation. Tuition reimbursement does not exist here, and other benefits are only offered to certain employees. There is no documented rhyme or reason why this is the case, however, if you ask about it you will be redirected in a huge circle until you give up. Maybe that has changed now, but its a good idea to ask in your interview what benefits are offered to ALL. Anytime you need something you will eventually get told there is no room in the budget, yet they have it in the budget for others - while you are still in need. They never have any money in the budget to do anything including accomodations. Requested a standup desk and another manager was able to "test it out" and never got a community one until well over a year later. Parking can be a nightmare and wish they'd have assigned spots depending on your schedule to accomodate. Senior leadership is into gossiping about the "worker bees" and not the face of what leadership should be.
