Pros

Started off well till it got sold. Then it just went downhill. If you have no experience, stay for a year then get out for something better.

Cons

Layoffs, mismanagement. Upper management will stab you in the back first chance they get if they feel threatened. Heavy nepotism.

Pros

Great work enviroment, you actually do learn a thing or two about web hosting.

Cons

I was brought on with the full intention that I was going to do technical support. "Don't think about it as sales, think about it as helping the customer succeed" I'm sorry, I do not feel at all comfortable peddling products that customers don't need when they call in to get help. Doesn't matter how much you actually help the customer.

Shift from problem-solving to product-pushing.

Pros

It is a place to consistently earn enough money to keep a roof over my head and food in my belly. Strictly on the product's own merits it's a great service. Location is pretty. Insurance is decent.

Cons

It's a sales job rather than a true customer service job now. In my time there the shift has strongly been from resolving problems to selling addon product. Senior management sets goals without truly understanding, and then flogs you until you get close, even if your working style is completely different. There's little communication between senior management and actual CS reps. Numbers is all that's looked at, nothing is envisioned creatively. They tend to think candy or donuts are a good perk, when most landlords don't take donuts as rent payment.
