Great opportunity for fast growth and promotion within the company. They are very out of the box thinking with what positions you can move into to gain different experience that what you may have had in the past.

Cons

Fast pace & high stress. In office face-time oriented. Constant change is the norm. High burnout and employee turnover rates.

Boart is a great company to work with. Class "A" people with an international portfolio. Lot's of career potential in almost every field.

Cons

The current economic climate is making working for Boart a challenge. There have been severe cuts through the market downturn, which puts additional pressure on remaining staff.

Pros

Decent Compensation, global travel, good technology (oracle) Interesting Industry. I was afforded a great opportunity to travel the world, work with colleagues in many countries. We worked hard and were rewarded likewise.

Cons

Sr management is in over their heads. They cannot manage the industry cycles. I was hired after the 08 global financial crisis. They all promised to "never let that happen again" Survived all layoffs and left on my own terms in spring 2013. Many many excellent and skilled employees with years of experience were laid off. I wanted to stay, but couldn't handle the uncertainty. By then corporate was Toxic, and nobody had a clue as to what to do. Hire and Fire that's BLY!
